To ensure your motorcycle lasts a lifetime, you’ll need to keep a close eye on its general care and upkeep. However, you don’t want to wait and service your model at the last minute, or when you notice a problem has appeared. Instead, follow our helpful preventative maintenance guide below to ensure your motorcycle lasts as long as possible.

Wash Your Motorcycle

Motorcycles can gather up quite a bit of dust and grime. If left to sit for too long, this can lead to rust and eventually corrosion on your vehicle—costing you an arm and a leg in repairs and maintenance fees. To avoid this, we recommend giving your motorcycle a thorough scrub every 3 to 6 months and using a protective polish and wax.

Inspect Your Tires

Tires are one of your motorcycle’s most important components, and you’ll want to examine your model’s set at least every 6 months or so. Look for any signs of damage, uneven wear, or stuck objects that could lead to an air leak. Be sure to double-check your tire pressure as well and top off with a bit of pressurized air if readings are low.

Use High-Synthetic Oil

While mineral oils may be the more affordable option when filling your motorcycle with engine oil, these types of products will end up costing you more in the long term. High-quality synthetic oils last much longer than mineral alternatives, and will end up saving you more in future repairs and replacement parts.
